Dumb Cane - Dieffenbachia
With its large, green leaves and splashes of cream from the fan-like structure on their stems Dieffenbachia is a relatively easy going plant that can handle high humidity. It's native to many parts across tropical America but it thrives best in warm environments with lots water availability--a perfect match for your bathroom or kitchen!
Light
Dieffenbachia are plants that prefer bright, indirect light but can tolerate some shading. Lower lighting levels reduce the plant's rate of growth and dulls its variegated leaves as well; direct sunlight will scorch them if left unchecked for too long!
Watering
Be sure to water your plants regularly, but not too often. When the top layer of soil starts drying out and becomes difficult for moisture retention capabilities then you should give them some love with a good dose from their watering can or hose-end sprayer!
Temperature
The chameleon prefers a temperature of 18-24 degrees Celsius, but can live with 10 degree celsius for short periods. It avoid drafts and likes to feel warm on its body surface so make sure you provide them plenty room in your home or office space!
Feed
Apply a weak dose of a fertiliser about once a month during the growing season.
