Parlour Palm - Chamaedora
In the wild, you’ll find this plant growing primarily in Mexico and Guatemala. But it's been beloved as an indoor plant since Victorian times! For Victorians who valued their parlours above all else - they were considered to be one of life's most important rooms because for them these spaces represented where society stared its finest items: jewellery or art pieces; luxurious furniture, so many people prized having plants thriving within such beautiful settings. This palm in your parlour suggests you were worldly and sophisticated, hence the name Parlour Palm.
Care Tips
Although we're slightly less formal these days. The Parlour palm still brings simple elegance to any room and it’s extremely low maintenance. It will tolerate low light and infrequent watering, but as with any plant, you’ll get better results if you treat them with tender love and care. These palm trees also appreciate a feed with liquid fertiliser once per month during spring and summer.
